Mac-style Windows DateTime Format

I use both a Mac and a Windows PC and have my Mac set to show the day of the week and the date. One of things I prefer about Macs is that their default DateTime format is much easier to read at a glance than Windows.

Luckily there is a way to change it, here’s how:

  • Open Control Panel
  • Click on the Clock, Language, and Region link
  • Click on the Change date, time, or numbers formats link
  • Under the Formats tab, click on the Additional settings button
  • Click on the Time tab
  • Under “Time formats” in the Short time box enter h:mm tt
  • Click on the Date tab
  • Under “Time formats” in the Short time box enter ddd d MMM
